How much space should I have on my flash drive?
I am going out tomorrow to buy a flash drive to store video files.
DVD Ripper can rip DVD to AVI MPEG WMV DivX H.264/MPEG-4 AVC MP4 MP3 WMA excellently.
I have roughly two and a half hours of footage that needs to be saved.
Mac DVD to iPhone software is the best iPhone movie converter for Mac which is able to convert iPhone video on Mac OS X.
how much space should the flash drive I get have on it?
I have seen flash drives for $30.00 with 4GB of space, is this more or less than what I will need?

Hi. Look at the size of your file. If it will fit on a 4GB flash drive, then yes. Personally I would a bit extra for an 8GB flash drive.
I think that should be good 4 GB has alot of space. I think that will work…. Good luck
Why don’t you get an external hard drive??? they are like $65 for 250 GB
32 gig would be a better choice but more expensive
Depends entirely on the footage. If you have it already then you know exactly how big it is. I can’t imagine that 4GB would be useful for anything but highly compressed porn.
If you’re talking raw DV that 4GB will hold about 15minutes of video. For real video work your best bet would be to pick up a pair of 1TB drives. Always buy in pairs so you can back up. Should run under $200.
Flash drives are ment to transport items from one computer to another amongst other things. They are definitely not long term storage devices as they aren’t very durable and in some cases randomly lose things.. Something you would want to store your precious memories is an external hard drive or a portable hard drive. Both are good ways to store such items. Here are a few options.
Still pretty cheap. If you get one that is DOA (Dead on arrival) then you can return it for a new one free of charge. This is a safer and more reliable way to store all of your digital treasures. Hope this helps.
1GB is going to be equal to about 3-4minutes worth of video. Video files are large. I would look into buying an external hard drive instead. You can get them at fairly good prices now. 250GB should fit your needs right now, but I would be safe and go for a 500GB.
